Q: WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP DUES? A: Membership dues are $25 a year with information sent by email. Hard copy newsletters are mailed to members without internet access. Dues are not pro-rated; however, new memberships received after July 1 will be good through the following dues year which runs Oct. 1 through Sept. 30.
Q: ARE THERE ACTIVITY FEES AFTER I JOIN THE CLUB?
A: There are small fees for certain parties and events during the year. Fees are lower if a food item is brought to the party. Standard club fees for members: $2 with a substantial dish to share or $7 without a food item. Non-members: $5 with a substantial dish to share or $10 without a food item. There are admission fees for club-sponsored dance parties.
Q: CAN I COME TO THE EVENTS BEFORE I JOIN?
A: We suggest that you come and participate in the dinners or parties before you join. This gives you a chance to meet club members and get questions answered about the club.
Q: CAN I BRING A FRIEND TO A FIRST PLACE SINGLES EVENT?
A: Guest are invited to most events. A few parties are closed to nonmembers. The monthly calendar will reflect if any event is closed.
Q: HOW MANY MEMBERS ARE THERE IN FIRST PLACE SINGLES?
A: There are approximately 200 members who join yearly.
Q: WHERE ARE MOST OF THE EVENTS HELD?
A: Most of the events are held in the Ellicott City, Columbia and Catonsville area where most of the members live. We have some activities in Baltimore and Anne Arundel County.
